Agentico Labs
The research side
of Agentico.
We do a lot of research and development in-house, and most of what we use, we built. Agentico Labs offers that work as a service: testing models and frameworks, building prototypes and running feasibility studies, for businesses that want to know what AI can do for their product or platform before they commit to building it.
We try it on
ourselves first.
We build our own tools
Our proposals, bookings, call scheduling and error alerts run on software we wrote and look after ourselves. When we recommend a way of building something, it's usually one we're already running.
We test new models on our own work
When a new model comes out, we try it on the jobs we do every week and see whether it's better, cheaper or faster than what we're using. Most don't change much. Some change how we work.
We try the tools before we recommend them
Agent frameworks, connectors and hosting options get built with and broken in our own setup first. We also check the licences, so anything we hand over can be used commercially.
What the lab
can do for you.
R&D frameworks
Setting up how your team runs AI experiments: how ideas get picked, how each one is tested, what counts as a pass, and where results are written down so the next person doesn't start from scratch.
Model testing
We test the models you're considering on your own tasks and sample data, then compare accuracy, speed, running cost per task and where each one goes wrong. You see the results side by side.
Framework and tooling comparisons
Agent frameworks, connectors (MCP), vector databases, hosting. We build the same small thing on the options worth considering, then tell you which we'd pick, why, and what it would tie you to.
Prototypes
A working prototype on real data that people can actually use, so the decision gets made on something that runs. Built so it can grow into the real thing, or be set aside cleanly if it shouldn't.
Feasibility studies
Can AI do this job well enough, safely enough and cheaply enough to be worth building? We test it, then write up what worked, what didn't, the risks, the running costs and what a full build would take. Sometimes the answer is no, and it's better to know before the budget's spent.
AI in an existing platform
For software companies and established platforms moving into AI: where it fits in the product, what it changes in your architecture, data handling and pricing, and a staged plan that doesn't mean rebuilding what already works.
Who it's for
- Software companies adding AI to a product customers already pay for
- Businesses running their own platform or internal systems, working out what AI changes for them
- Founders who need a prototype and a straight read on feasibility before they hire or raise
- Teams who've been asked to look into AI and want a structured way to do it
Three ways
to work with us.
Research programme
Minimum three months
A defined question, a test plan, results every fortnight and a written report at the end. Three months gives enough time to test properly, follow up what looks promising and write it up.
Ongoing retainer
Monthly, ongoing
We work as your R&D team: testing new models and tools against your use cases as they come out, prototyping the next idea and reporting back each month.
Project by project
Scoped and quoted up front
One question at a time: a feasibility study, a model comparison or a prototype, with the scope and price agreed before we start.
Every engagement is quoted once we know the question. If what you need is a build rather than research, that's our implementation work.
How a piece of
research runs.
- 01
Question
We agree what you're trying to find out, and what a useful answer looks like, before any testing starts.
- 02
Test
We test on your tasks and data, in your own accounts or a separate sandbox, and keep a record of what we tried.
- 03
Report
You get the findings in writing, with the evidence, the running costs, the risks and what we'd do next.
- 04
Decide
Build it with us, build it in-house, or leave it. Either way you keep the code, the data and the findings.
Confidential
Your ideas and results stay between us. We don't publicise who we work with.
Yours to keep
Code, prototypes, test data and reports belong to you, on your accounts.
Any model
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or open models. We test what fits the question.
What do you want
to find out?
Tell us about the product or platform and the question you're trying to answer. A couple of lines is plenty. We'll come back to you about how we'd approach it and which way of working suits.
